About us

The Rötiberg winery was established in 2001 by our wine growers. We took the name Rötiberg from one of the best located and sunniest vineyards in Wilchingerberg, in the beautiful Klettgau – the wild west of Schaffhausen.

Team

We are a young, innovative team, where everyone tackles whatever tasks arise. Teamwork is very important to us. Most of our new marketing ideas come while enjoying a few glasses of good wine.

Winzerfamilien

Our 43 winegrowing families ensure every year that we can create our excellent wines with the best grape qualities. Together with our team they work hand in hand like one big family.

Roman Hedinger

Pinot Noir Klettgau, Chilchof (BIO SUISSE), Riesling (BIO SUISSE)

Dichterwii

When he took over his parents' farm in 2017, he quickly realized that he wanted to preserve soil fertility and beneficial insects. That's why he converted his entire farm to BIO Suisse in 2020. After Roman's first experiences in BIO viticulture, it is a challenging but quite feasible task with the European varieties in our region.

Roland und Katharina Stoll-Sulzberger

Pinot Noir Klettgau

Dichterwii, Undercover

Roland is the 4th generation of the family to work in the vineyard and was introduced to the work as a child. Likewise, his parents passed on to him the importance of a careful ''vineyard''. Together with his wife Katharina, he cultivates his vines with great dedication and in harmony with nature. Since the existence of the Rötiberg, Roland's family brings the grapes to our winery.

David und Köbi Wanner

Pinot Noir Klettgau, Chardonnay, Müller Thurgau, Dichterwii Weiss (Pinot Blanc), Merlot

Blanc de Noir

David Wanner grew up with viticulture. In 2022, David and his wife took over their parents' farm and the associated vineyards. His father Köbi (former president of the board of directors of the Rötiberg Winery) has been bringing his grapes to us in the winery since the founding year 2001 and so now also his son David.

Willy Gysel

Pinot Noir Klettgau

Müller-Thurgau, Dichterwii

As a child, Willy Gysel was already in the vines with his mother and helped with all the work that had to be done in the vineyard. In 1979 he received 13 acres of Pinot Noir from his father, which he still cultivates today. Willy's favorite Rötiberg wines are Müller-Thurgau or Dichterwii.

Christoph Külling

Pinot Noir Klettgau

Blanc de Noir trocken

After his training as a winemaker, he went for 3 years to the French-speaking part of Switzerland to gain professional experience. Back in Switzerland, he started his self-employment as a winemaker with 11.5 ha of vineyards. His company Wein & Wild now cultivates 18.9 ha of conventional vines.

Markus Gysel

Zweigelt, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir Klettgau

Dichterwii

After his training as a farmer, he took over his parents' farm together with his brothers (Willy and Hans) in 1978. Markus took over the entire responsibility for the viticulture and passed the master examination in this field. Since 2001, he has been bringing the grapes to the Rötiberg winery.

Hansueli Rüger

Dichterwii, Klettgau, Müller-Thrugau, Merlot

Merlot, Blanc de Noir, Klettgau

Since his childhood, Hansueli has known viticulture as well as the Rötiberg winery. He cultivates the vineyard, which he took over from his parents, on a part-time basis with a lot of passion and care, so that he can harvest the best grapes.

Hans Gysel

Pinot Noir Klettgau

Rötiberg Reserve, Chardonnay

Hans Gysel came to viticulture through his family. In 1967, he was able to acquire a vineyard plot from his aunt, which was not a matter of course in those days. Since then he delivered his grapes to the Landwirtschaftliche Genossenschaft Wilchingen and after the foundation of the Rötiberg Kellerei to us.
